Bea Diez Roman, the “queen of Spain of two wheels” at FenekRally

After her triumph in the 2025 Spanish Rally TT Championship, the young Madrid native is preparing to embark on a new adventure in Morocco, riding her inseparable KTM 450EXC.

Determined and always ready to push herself, Beatriz “Bea” Diez Roman, a Spanish rider from Madrid, caught the attention of the offroad world in 2025 thanks to her performances in the Spanish Rally TT Championship, where she claimed the overall female title. On her KTM 450EXC, the young rider faced a demanding championship with tenacity and strong technical skills: her consistency and ability to maintain focus during the most challenging moments allowed her to achieve a prestigious victory, establishing herself as one of the leading figures in the Iberian rally-raid scene. Building on this experience, Beatriz is now preparing to take on new international challenges. Among them, her participation in the 2025 FenekRally, which will take place from November 15 to 23 in Morocco, represents an important first step toward her ultimate dream: the 2027 Dakar Rally. We spoke with Bea to learn more about her story, her motivations, and her way of living a discipline that requires preparation and a deep passion for adventure.

How and when did your passion for motorcycles, and particularly rally-raids, begin?

My passion for motorcycles has been with me since childhood. I grew up surrounded by engines, asphalt, and mud, moving from road bikes to offroad bikes. In recent years, I have become increasingly interested in the world of rally-raids: it all started by following the Dakar Rally. From that moment, I knew I wanted to experience those emotions firsthand. The real spark happened a little over a year ago during my first navigation experience with Club Aventura Touareg. Since then, I have never stopped dreaming of new adventures.

What motivated you to participate in the 2025 FenekRally, and what does this competition mean to you?

The idea came from my club companions, especially “Murchi” (Manuel García Vitoria), who inspired me to take on this challenge. For me, the FenekRally represents much more than just a race: it is an opportunity to grow as a rider, to learn, to refine navigation skills, and to experience the unique atmosphere of the desert up close, where adventure is the main protagonist. It is a competition that embodies the most authentic spirit of rally-raids.

Preparation for a rally-raid is complex. What aspect do you find most challenging (physical, mental, or technical), and how do you handle it day by day?

At this stage, the most challenging aspect for me is the technical part, especially navigation. Being precise and consistent is essential because a single route mistake can compromise an entire stage. Every day, I work to improve concentration and pace management, trying to stay calm and clear-headed in every situation. My goal is to approach the course intelligently, without excess, but always with determination.

Let’s talk about your bike: which vehicle will you compete with in the FenekRally, and what modifications have you made for the Moroccan desert?

I will compete with the bike I currently use in the Spanish Rally TT Championship: a KTM 450EXC in the colors of Club Aventura Touareg. It is a reliable and tested travel companion, but for the FenekRally, having perfectly tuned suspension and efficient technical support will be crucial. It will be my first race in Morocco, so the strategy will be to maintain a steady pace, listen to the bike, and finish each stage. Reliability, more than pure speed, will be key.

What difficulties do you think you will encounter during the rally, and how do you prepare mentally to face them?

Since this is my first participation, it is difficult to predict what I will encounter on the route. Navigation and stress management will probably be the biggest challenges. The desert tests both mind and body, but I feel ready: I will approach each stage calmly, with determination, and aware that every mistake is also an opportunity to learn. The important thing will be to never give up before the finish line.

Being a woman in a still predominantly male world: how do you experience this reality, and how do you perceive the evolution of motorsport in this regard?

Personally, I have always approached this situation naturally. In the paddock and on the tracks, I have found respect, friendship, and team spirit. My fellow riders have always welcomed me enthusiastically, sharing advice and experiences. It is true that there are still few of us, but the number of women in motorsport is growing, and things are changing. More and more organizations and teams are opening their doors to female riders, which is a very positive sign for the future.

After the FenekRally, what are your goals and dreams in the world of offroad competitions?

My calendar for next year will be quite busy: in addition to the races already scheduled, I will participate in several international rallies to gain experience and mileage. All of this is part of a precise plan, with a clear goal: reaching the 2027 Dakar Rally. It is my biggest dream, and every race, like the FenekRally, represents another step toward that goal.
