Second Stage
The second stage didn’t start well, as a tire blowout gave our team quite a scare. However, after changing the wheel and keeping their spirits high, they pressed on, ready to face what they do best—the dunes.
The stage ran from Bisha to Wadi Ad-Dawasir, where drivers and navigators had to cross a range of dunes that would challenge even the most experienced participants. It was a tough stage, not only because of the terrain itself but also because it was only the second day of adapting to the environment, the team, and the climate.
During this stage, the JalanMarronesFenek team helped several participants, including driver Álvaro Moya, who suffered a mechanical failure and was stranded at night in the middle of the desert. Thanks to the assistance of truck No. 524, he was able to continue.
Lluís Rosa: “Night caught us in the desert again, just like in the first stage. We saw Yago de Prado and Álvaro Moya stopped, so we offered to tow them to the nearest road.”
They reached the finish line around 5:00 in the morning—exhausted but eager to fight on in the next stage.

Third Stage
After two exhausting, adrenaline-filled stages, the Barcelona-based team was slowed down by a technical issue in the gearbox, forcing them to turn back and return to the bivouac.
Lluís Rosa: “We started very well and were feeling comfortable until the breakdown occurred.”
The JalanMarronesFenek team had been making great progress, pushing to recover as much time as possible. In the final stretch, while crossing a chain of dunes, the drivers heard a strange noise. Fearing it might be an engine failure, and after some discussion, they decided to head back to the meeting point.
That night, the crew of the MAN No. 524 and the Boucou Assistance team repaired the truck so it would be ready for Stage 4. There was no engine failure after all!
Ready for Stage 4.
