Tom Deest, 32 ans, fran\u00e7ais de Bayonne (d\u00e9partement des Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es-Atlantiques), sourit joyeusement \u00e0 l\u2019arriv\u00e9e du FenekRally. Sur sa Fantic, apr\u00e8s avoir parcouru plus de 1200 km autour de Merzouga, au Maroc, Deest a remport\u00e9 le titre absolu dans la cat\u00e9gorie moto avec un temps total de 22h29&rsquo;15\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fenekrally.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Tom-Deest-2-%C2%A9Victor-Cuervo.jpg\" alt=\"FenekRally 2024, le fran\u00e7ais Tom Deest gagne en moto\" class=\"wp-image-14445\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Le FenekRally a \u00e9t\u00e9 ma premi\u00e8re exp\u00e9rience en rallye-raid. Je me suis inscrit avec l\u2019unique objectif de d\u00e9couvrir cette discipline qui m\u2019a toujours fait r\u00eaver et apprendre les bases de la navigation dans les grands espaces! Pendant des ann\u00e9es, chaque hiver, j\u2019ai regard\u00e9 la Dakar \u00e0 la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision avec mon p\u00e8re, avec le r\u00eave secret de participer un jour \u00e0 un rallye-raid<\/em> &#8211; raconte Tom &#8211; <em>Le d\u00e9but a \u00e9t\u00e9 difficile. Dans le prologue, je me suis perdu et j\u2019ai pris une p\u00e9nalit\u00e9&#8230; un grand coup et un retour \u00e0 la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 qui me fait r\u00e9aliser qu\u2019il y a vraiment beaucoup \u00e0 apprendre. Puis 5 sp\u00e9ciaux: la navigation s\u2019am\u00e9liore un peu plus chaque jour jusqu\u2019\u00e0 devenir un jeu vraiment amusant avec l\u2019objectif de maintenir un bon rythme de course sans subir de p\u00e9nalit\u00e9. Le parcours \u00e9tait exceptionnel avec des paysages diff\u00e9rents: de la piste rapide aux tron\u00e7ons techniques, des rochers au sable, des lits de rivi\u00e8re s\u00e9ch\u00e9s aux dunes. Le seul regret est de ne pas avoir eu le temps de prendre des photos pour montrer \u00e0 la maison et aux amis\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les mauvaises conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques des semaines pr\u00e9c\u00e9dant la course ont rendu les pistes du sud du Maroc particuli\u00e8rement difficiles. <em>\u00ab\u00a0Dans certaines occasions, le roadbook n\u2019\u00e9tait pas tr\u00e8s \u00e0 jour et il a fallu s\u2019adapter: je l\u2019ai compris apr\u00e8s un gros accident le premier jour<\/em> &#8211; poursuit Deest &#8211; <em>Mais le rallye-raid est \u00e7a, une course de dur\u00e9e et d\u2019endurance, o\u00f9 il n\u2019est pas possible de conduire \u00e0 100% et o\u00f9 chaque danger ne peut \u00eatre indiqu\u00e9 sur le roadbook, donc soyez prudent et gardez un \u0153il sur!\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comment s\u2019est organis\u00e9 le FenekRally ? <em>\u00ab\u00a0Je dois dire tr\u00e8s familier, avec une attention particuli\u00e8re aux motards. Toujours un bon mot pour nous encourager, dans les bons moments comme dans les difficult\u00e9s&#8230; et il y en a eu beaucoup! Le FenekRally m\u2019a permis d\u2019apprendre \u00e0 naviguer et de r\u00e9aliser un r\u00eave d\u2019enfance mais surtout il m\u2019a permis de rencontrer d\u2019autres motards et pilotes SSV\/Auto de grande gentillesse. Je ne m\u2019attendais pas cette ambiance en comp\u00e9tition: si c\u2019est l\u2019esprit rally-raid, alors je pense avoir trouv\u00e9 la discipline que j\u2019aime vraiment.
