Het is niet duidelijk waarom, maar sinds dit jaar is de rally naar Marokko verplaatst. Het plan is om gedurende vijf dagen rondjes rond het rally-hoofdkwartier, Chergui Hotel, te rijden, elk van ongeveer 250 km met 230 km aan special stages. Werkgebied: Erfoud en Merzouga, oftewel de Westelijke Sahara, met zelfs routes strak langs de Marokkaanse-Algenjiise grens.
