Tunisia has announced the reopening of its borders to international travelers starting June 27, according to the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism. During these first months, tourists wishing to visit the country must present a COVID-19 test taken in their country of origin.
Tunisia has been one of the Mediterranean countries least affected by the pandemic. “Thanks to its excellent recovery rate, effective medical care for all hospitalized patients, and the strict health measures implemented, Tunisia is ready to resume international tourism activity,” stated the Ministry of Tourism.
In addition, with the aim of “welcoming visitors safely, reassuring travelers, and preparing for recovery,” the Ministry of Tourism has created the “Ready & Safe” protocol. “This protocol is mandatory for all tourism operators in Tunisia and will comply with WHO recommendations. These measures will be monitored and applied by everyone to ensure hygiene, preventive cleanliness, and control of COVID-19, guaranteeing the health and safety of tourists,” the Ministry of Tourism reported.
This week, Tunisia entered the final stage of its deconfinement plan, and as of June 4, restaurants, cafes, and hotels have reopened to the public at 50% capacity. Interprovincial travel is also permitted.
This is great news for all lovers of this country and especially for #FenekRally2020 which, although still more than five months away, is getting closer every day.
